I am in the final year of my PhD in Economics at the Australian National University. I hold a Masters of International and Development Economics from Yale University and First Class Honours degree from the University of Sydney.
This website provides examples of research I have completed for academic and policy audiences. I have received funding from a range of sources, including the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Bank. My research has attracted media attention from outlets such as the Guardian, the BBC and Vox.
I currently work part time as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and as a consultant for the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked for around ten years in the international development sector, including as an economist with the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), UNICEF Uganda, JPAL/IPA, the Australian Aid Program and the Australian Treasury.
